NSW DPI – Registration of Bee Hives in NSW
Don’t forgot to register your hives (or renew) with NSW DPI which is compulsory under the Biosecurity Act 2015. Recreational Beekeepers pay $60 for 2 years to register with NSW DPI to ensure they know where hives are located and can let beekeepers know of any local threats if they should occur.

1. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Any person who keeps bees (one or more hives) in NSW must be registered as a beekeeper in accordance with the Apiaries Act 1985 and the Apiaries Regulation 2013, relevant sections (s.) and clauses (cl.) of which are cited in this Procedure.
